Hey K/1L!
Last week of term 2, woohoo!
I hope this photo gets you thinking about your stories. Think about your settings. Where is the setting of your story? Where is it happening? What does it look like? What are you seeing? What does it feel like?
Have a lovely week with Miss McKenzie and Miss Passerman and have a lovely holiday, I'll see you when I get back!

Hi guys, as this week we're launching our creative writing project with 2/3P and the high school kids from Wagga, I thought it would be a good idea to start getting your creative ideas flowing. Below is a picture of a forest to help get you writing. However, instead of just writing about the picture, I've given you a written prompt to respond to.
Now all stories have a beginning, a middle and an ending, we'll be learning more about this as the term goes along. Your job for this week is to use the prompt below as a springboard to write either the beginning, middle or end of a story. You must include the 30 words below, but they are not included in your final 30 words.

Welcome to term 2, @K1MEPS! Below you can see the challenge for this week. As promised, I've bumped the #20WC up to 30 words for this term because you were all so successful at writing last term. This means that it is no longer a #20WC at all and is, in fact, a #30WC. This term we will be focussing on creative writing and I would love to see you all get imaginative with your 30 word challenges. Here are some questions to get you thinking, I look forward to reading what you all come up with!
How did this strange creature arrive in this place and why is it all alone?
How long has it been there and how long will it remain, where will it go to next?
Where would you find food and water at this isolated place, how would you survive?

Wow, we've made it to the final #20WC for term 1! I can't believe how quickly this has happened. I think the prompt for this week is an interesting one and I can't wait to see what all of you come up with. Also, because you have all done so well this writing challenge this term, I'm going to bump it up to 30 words for term 2. Well done!

This week we are going to start the 20 word challenge (#20WC). This is a writing challenge in which a year 7 class from Davidson High School send us a writing prompt, about which we have to write 20 words. The year 7 students will then choose their favourite from the responses written on our website. We might even get some editing help from some year 3 students at a rural school in North Star, NSW!
Above is the prompt for our first week. Below are the student responses!
We were very lucky to have some older students from North Star Public School edit our work for us. You can see all of their excellent editing and feedback below. We hope you enjoy reading what we have written!
Here are our final works!
