Last week we went outside to do some gardening. Mr. Hewes brought in four different types of seeds. He brought in basil and chives, which you can eat and pansies and mesembryanthemum (a tricky word), which both grow into pretty flowers.
To plant the seeds we each got a little pot that we had to fill with some potting mix. We had to make a little hole in the centre of the pot and put in some seeds.

After we had done this we had to take our little pots over to the garden to water them. We did this and then placed them in the greenhouse to wait for them to sprout. We have to remember to keep going back to check on them every couple of days so that they don't dry out.
