Mr. Hewes brought us in some Brick Stix so that we could use them with our writing. Brick Stix are basically word stickers that get stuck on to building blocks so that you can build cool walls and sentences at the same time. Below you can see some of the sentences that we made last week.
It can be tricky because when you're building you usually start from the bottom and build up, but when we read we usually read from either left to right (like a book) or top to bottom (like on a poster). This meant that we built our sentences from the bottom up which made them a little difficult to read in the photos above. On our second go we built our sentences so that you could read them from top to bottom. Doing this was almost like building in reverse!
